I want to encourage you to take a few minutes today and watch this deeply helpful teaching from Wisdom Island – How to cast your cares on God, and leave them there. It’s practical, biblical, and full of gentle wisdom for anyone who finds themselves carrying more than they should.
Many years ago, during a long and difficult season (and I’ve had a few of those – though some wonderful ones too), I was reading 1 Peter 5:7: “Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.” And in that moment, I experienced what I call a Rhema Word moment. It wasn’t dramatic or loud, but it was unmistakably alive. The verse didn’t just speak to me; it lived in me. I caught a spiritual glimpse of God’s care in a way I can’t fully articulate, because it was spiritual, personal, deeply tender and comforting.
And although that moment happened years ago, it hasn’t faded. It still returns – often and unexpectedly – reminding me that I’m held, that I’m loved, and that I don’t have to carry everything on my own. It has helped me through dark valleys, but also through the ordinary learning curves of life:
- learning how to be a good husband,
- a good father,
- a good family member,
- a good colleague…
Learning how to navigate relationships that are always changing, always growing, always moving can be challenging for many. You can often feel like you’re just trying to get it right – and sometimes fluffing your lines along the way. But God’s care can steady you.
This is why I’m urging you to watch the Wisdom Islands video {see below). It captures this truth beautifully. It teaches how to separate your responsibility from God’s responsibility, how to release outcomes you cannot control, and how to stop treating every anxious thought as an instruction you must obey. It’s wise, anointed, and incredibly supportive.
