I pray you’re doing well today and that the peace of Jesus is resting on you. I want to share something from my heart today – something real, something lived, something I’m walking through even now. Because life has a way of shifting suddenly, doesn’t it? One moment you’re steady, settled, peaceful… and the next, you find yourself in a place you didn’t expect.
And in those moments, the question becomes simple:
Can I still hear His voice?
I’ve found myself returning again and again to the Gospels – not just to read about Jesus, but to hear from Jesus. There’s something about those red letters. They comfort me. They challenge me. They expose attitudes in me that aren’t right. They steady me. They remind me of His love, His acceptance, His truth.
And recently, as I sat with Matthew, I found myself struck again by the contrast between Matthew 3 and Matthew 4.
Matthew 3 is full of glory – the baptism, the heavens opening, the Spirit descending like a dove, and the Father’s voice declaring:
“This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”(Matthew 3:17)
What a moment. What affirmation. What splendour.
And then… immediately… the wilderness…
Forty days.
Forty nights.
No food.
No water.
Heat.
Loneliness.
Temptation.
I know Scripture records three specific temptations, but I don’t believe those were the only ones. The enemy doesn’t tempt once and walk away. And Scripture itself tells us:
“Jesus did many other things as well… the world could not contain the books.”(John 21:25)
So I imagine there were many pressures, many whispers, many attempts to break Him down.
And as I read that, I realised something:
Life can shift just as suddenly for us.
One moment we’re in a place of peace… and the next, we’re in a wilderness we didn’t choose.
I want to share something personal today – because I believe in the power of testimony. Scripture says:
“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.”(Revelation 12:11)
And I believe that when we share honestly, we strengthen one another.
Recently, I found myself in a very difficult situation involving a member of my family – someone I love deeply – who has been struggling with substance misuse. But the substance misuse wasn’t the root. It was their way of trying to self-medicate a painful mental health battle.
And walking through that…
supporting them…
praying for them…
loving them…
carrying the weight of it…
has been heavy.
It pulled me from a place where I felt strong, settled, and spiritually refreshed… straight into a wilderness season. A season of stress. A season of uncertainty. A season of waiting. A season of praying with tears instead of words.
And I have to recognise – honestly – that it impacts me. Brother Don may be a ministry voice, but I am still a human being. I feel things. I carry things. I walk through valleys just like anyone else.
But even in this wilderness, I believe something with all my heart:
God will turn this for good. Even this. Because Scripture promises:
“All things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.”(Romans 8:28)
That doesn’t mean I don’t feel the weight. It doesn’t mean I don’t feel the stress. It doesn’t mean I don’t feel the ache.
Jesus has commissioned us to walk as He walked – not in our own strength, but in His authority. And even when life shifts suddenly, even when the wilderness feels long, even when the pressure is real, He has not left us powerless.
Scripture says:
“We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, and the rulers of the darkness of this world…”(Ephesians 6:12)
That means some battles are spiritual. Some pressures are unseen. Some burdens are heavier than they look.
But Jesus has given us:
His Spirit
His authority
His Word
His presence
His comfort
And my prayer – for you and for myself – is that we never lose sight of that truth. Even when we feel knocked down. Even when we feel tired. Even when we feel stretched thin.
Some things we simply have to walk through. But we walk through them with Him.
If you’re going through something and you want prayer, please remember you can reach out confidentially.
You can use the contact information on the site – which only I see – or you can use the WhatsApp number, which sends a message directly to the phone in my hand.
Be strengthened today. Be encouraged. Be reminded that Jesus knows the wilderness, and He walks it with you. And His voice still speaks – even when life suddenly shifts.
May God bless you all,
‘But test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good.’

I would love for this space to become more interactive as we walk together in faith.
If there are subjects you’d like to explore from a Christian perspective, or if you
have prayer needs for yourself, your family, or your friends, please feel free to reach out.
You can send a private message through the site — these are confidential and not visible
to anyone else. The only exception would be if a safeguarding concern were raised; in that
case, it may need to be passed on to the appropriate agency or person, as you would expect.
Above all, I want to ensure that what is shared here reflects what the Lord desires to say.
Sometimes the “signal” of life can get in the way, and your feedback helps me stay prayerful,
discerning, and aligned with His heart. Whether you simply read along or choose to share,
I’m grateful you’re here.
Beginning a Journey With Jesus — click to open
If you’re exploring the Christian faith or wondering what it means to follow Jesus,
you’re in the right place. Beginning a journey with Him is the most life‑changing
decision a person can make — and it’s open to everyone.
Below is a simple explanation of the gospel message, followed by a prayer you can use
if you feel ready to invite Jesus into your life.
A Brief Summary of the Gospel Message:
God created you for relationship with Him.
Sin — the things we do wrong — separates us from God.
We cannot fix this separation by our own efforts.
Jesus, God’s Son, came to earth, lived without sin, and died on the cross to take our place.
He rose again, defeating sin and death.
Through Jesus, we can be forgiven, restored, and made new.
Salvation is a gift — received by faith, not earned by good works.
When we accept Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes to live within us and begins transforming our lives.
We become children of God, with a new identity and a new future.
A Simple Prayer to Begin Your Journey:
“Lord Jesus, I come to You today because I want to know You.
I admit that I have sinned and fallen short, and I ask for Your forgiveness.
I believe that You died for me and rose again so that I could be made new.
Today, I choose to turn away from my old life and follow You.
Please come into my heart, fill me with Your Holy Spirit, and help me to live for You
from this day forward.
Thank You for loving me, forgiving me, and making me Your child.
Amen.”
What to Do Next:
1. Find a Local Church
Look for a Bible‑believing church in your area. Speak to the pastor or leadership team
and let them know about the commitment you’ve made. They will be able to support you,
pray with you, and help you grow.
2. Consider the Alpha Course
I strongly recommend the Alpha Course, which runs worldwide. It’s a safe, friendly place
to explore questions about life, the Christian faith, and God — whether you’re brand new
or simply curious.
3. Reach Out if You’d Like Support
If you’d like prayer, have questions, or want to talk privately, you can send a confidential
message through the site. Nothing you share will be visible to others. The only exception is
if a safeguarding concern is raised — in that case, it may need to be passed on to the
appropriate agency or person, as you would expect.
